The Marvellous Monday Hub

Since joining Knutsford Together, I’ve had the opportunity to pop into the Monday Hub on a couple of occasions and every time I’ve been, I’ve received the warmest of welcomes and met some of the loveliest people.

The hub was originally set up as a ‘Life After Covid’ group, with the aim of reducing loneliness and social isolation. The group is extremely welcoming and the volunteers and participants are really lovely and very easy to get along with. Each week, you can expect to find a nice cup of tea or coffee and a plate of biscuits waiting for you! Everyone I’ve interacted with has been delightful and I can see how much they all benefit from attending the group.

In addition to friendly faces and lovely conversation, if you would like to find out more about what’s going on in Knutsford, everyone will do their best to help you.  Also, our lovely local Social Prescriber, Denise is regularly on hand to offer additional help and support.

Another wonderful service offered by this lovely group is transport to the venue. If you can’t get to the group, one of the volunteers will happily pick you up and take you home again (so there’s definitely no excuse not to go ;-))  Equally, if you’re just a little nervous about attending for the first time, one of the volunteers can arrange to take you for the first week or is very happy to chat to you on the phone beforehand to put you at ease.

Another great thing about this group is that it offers volunteering opportunities. The group continues to go from strength to strength, so is always looking for support from new volunteers.

The Monday Hub runs every Monday (except Bank Holidays) from 2-4pm at the community room at the back of the Curzon Cinema.
